I was lucky enough to go to Cuba with a group of friends. While it is a challenge for Americans to not have credit cards and have almost no internet, the experience was wonderful. People love music and art and most of all life! They work very hard having minimum comfort and no cars (the taxi is a biker with a cart), but they like to celebrate the joy of life. Havana is full of music and the main streets are occupied by stilt dancers. It is a lot to see and the mix of old Spanish culture and young pop culture is reflected in their paintings. I met great people who are happy and optimistic and looking forward to the future.
I was inspired to make a number of paintings and they are shown in this Web site under Cuba tab.
